Samuel is CEO of Akur8. He spent 15 years at IBM in various international sales and sales management positions before joining Insurtech Shift Technology as Head of Sales. At Shift, Samuel was instrumental in the successful internationalization of the company, including in the US. After 2 years at Shift, Samuel co-founded Akur8.

Thomas Holmes is currently the Head of US Actuarial Data Science at Akur8. Before Akur8, he worked for several years at Allstate, spending time as an analyst for commercial auto and then as a lead modeler on Allstate’s property modeling team. During his time as an actuary, he has worked with GLMs, GLMnets, and GBMs. He received his Fellowship from the Casualty Actuarial Society in 2019.

Mattia Casotto is the Head of Product US & Principal Scientist at Akur8. He has more than 8 years of experience on predictive modeling in insurance and is one of the founding members of Akur8. He is one of the co-author of the white-paper ‘Credibility and Penalized Regression’.

Phil is Vice President and Chief Actuary at NEXT Insurance Company, a technology enabled insurance company whose mission is to help entrepreneurs thrive by offering small business insurance products that are simple, affordable, and tailored to its customers. Phil oversees several functions including all aspects of pricing, reserving, regulatory filing, product implementation, and statistical reporting. Prior to this, Phil was a senior director in Munich Re Digital Partners' US division, and has also held roles as senior manager at Ernst & Young and various roles at Hartford Insurance Groups small commercial division. Phil has over 15 years of experience in the insurance industry, is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.

Christina is a Senior Manager and ACAS at Hagerty Insurance, where she leads the Predictive Modeling team within the Actuarial department focusing on developing models for pricing, underwriting, and customer behavior with the purpose of supporting business decisions and profitability. Christina spent 15 years teaching before transitioning to actuarial work a decade ago. At Hagerty, she worked with data analytics, indications, and predictive modeling. Christina brings a unique blend of technical expertise and clear communication to complex analytical challenges.

Pedro is a Regional Sales Director at Akur8, having previously worked as a management consultant at Bain & Company and done his MBA studies at INSEAD. He has been supporting Akur8 customers across the globe in their journey towards higher pricing sophistication since 2020.
