Mattia Casotto
Mattia Casotto is the Head of Product US & Principal Scientist at Akur8. He has more than 8 years of experience on predictive modeling in insurance and is one of the founding members of Akur8. He is one of the co-author of the white-paper ‘Credibility and Penalized Regression’.

Pedro Pereira
Pedro joined Akur8 in its early days, making him one of the ten longest-tenured employees at the company. He has been supporting insurers, MGAs, and actuarial consulting firms around the world in their pricing and reserving transformation journeys. With a background in strategy consulting at Bain & Company, Pedro brings a strong business lens to actuarial modernization, having advised global clients on strategic growth, operational performance, and organizational effectiveness. He holds two Engineering degrees from renowned French and Brazilian universities, as well as an MBA from INSEAD, one of the world’s top-ranked business schools.
Randy Compton
Randy is AVP of Actuarial Analytics at James River Insurance Group, driving innovation in insurance pricing and portfolio strategy. He developed a policy-level LDF and IBNR estimation method to support technical and experience rating and leads the creation of executive dashboards that inform strategic pricing decisions. With over 20 years of experience in predictive modeling, pricing optimization, and customer analytics, Randy has delivered impactful solutions across insurance, automotive, financial services, and hospitality. He holds a Master’s in Applied Economics from the University of Michigan.

Jay Call
Jay Call is the Director of Actuarial at Idaho Farm Bureau. He is an Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society, a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries, and a Certified Specialist in Predictive Analytics. He has built models for pricing, renewal probability, pricing elasticity, geographic diversification, and underwriting risk. Before becoming an actuary, he studied astrophysics, obtaining a Ph.D. in 2010 from Louisiana State University. Jay has been married to his wife Amber for 19 years. They have three children: Susan, Benjamin, and Caleb.
