Ryan Taylor
Ryan works at Akur8 as a Sales Executive for Canada, South Africa and Israel. Having previously worked as an account manager for Park Place Technologies and completed his Msc in Innovation management at Loughborough university. His role involves collaborating with key stakeholders to understand their evolving strategies and requirements and ultimately bring solutions to help compliment these strategies.

Bethany Cass
Bethany Cass is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) and member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA), bringing over 30 years of actuarial reserving experience to her role. She joined Akur8 in 2024 as part of the acquisition from Milliman and currently holds the role of Consulting Partners Director. With a strong foundation as a reserving analyst at a major insurance company and as a consulting actuary at PwC, Bethany has played a pivotal role in the design and development of the Arius® suite of products and has helped to improve reserving processes within some of the most prestigious property and casualty companies worldwide.

David Mamane
As a consulting partner in RSM’s Actuarial Services practice, David provides a diverse range of property & casualty (P&C) actuarial, insurance management, and enterprise risk management advisory services to insurance companies and other large financial institutions. He has extensive experience in P&C insurance pricing and reserving, economic capital and risk modeling, enterprise risk management, stress testing, and data analytics. He acts as an Appointed Actuary, Rate Filing Actuary, and Independent Actuary in support of large insurance mergers & acquisitions. David also has past experience as a leader in the Corporate Actuarial and Risk Management functions at a large P&C insurance company, where he led the company’s Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) process, and as a consultant for a large global insurance and reinsurance broker with a focus on self-insurance and captive insurance program management. In May 2019, David was selected as a senior analyst in RSM’s cutting edge Industry Eminence Program, which positions its senior analysts to understand, forecast and communicate economic, business and technology trends shaping the industries RSM serves. These senior analysts advise clients on conditions influencing middle market leaders. David’s focus is on the Insurance industry.
Deb Upton
Deb Upton is an accomplished actuary with extensive experience in the insurance industry. Currently serving as the Vice President of Corporate Actuarial at Gore Mutual Insurance, Deb developed all aspects of their actuarial function, setting strategic direction for pricing and reserving projects across both personal and commercial lines of business. In 2022, Deb began focusing on bringing together reserving and claims analytics. Deb holds a BMath in Actuarial Science from the University of Waterloo and is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries. She is actively involved in various industry committees and has served as a member of several technical advisory committees run by RSRA.
