Suguru Fujita
Suguru is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Japan, Associate of the Society of Actuaries, Certified Specialist in Predictive Analytics, and Chartered Enterprise Risk Actuary, with over ten years of actuarial experience, both in life and non-life insurance. He started his professional career with a large life insurer in Japan in 2013. Then he moved to a general insurance organization in 2016. Also since 2017, he had been involved in numerous analytical projects on reinsurance side at a global reinsurance broking firm. He joined Akur8 as an Actuarial Data Scientist in Tokyo in 2023 to support actuaries and pricing teams, thus helping them to make faster and smoother decisions thanks to Akur8’s transparent machine learning technology.
Josh Meyers
Josh Meyers is an Actuarial Data Scientist at Akur8. In his role, Josh works with clients helping them use models to solve business problems and gain insights with Akur8's software. Prior to joining Akur8, Josh spent five years at The Hartford where he held various pricing and modeling roles. He graduated from Brigham Young University with Master of Science in Statistics, and is currently a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS).

Max Martinelli
Max Martinelli joined Akur8 as an Actuarial Data Scientist in 2023. He works with clients to ensure they get the most out of Akur8's transparent machine learning software. This ranges from actuarial modeling advice to collaborating on how an insurer can get the most out of their data. Before this, Max worked in various actuarial and data science roles at Allstate for nearly 8 years. He has worked on auto, property and specialty lines with a broad scope of projects. These ranged from traditional actuarial indications to price optimization to cutting-edge high-fidelity telematics models. His work spanned from production grade models to rapid research models to further Allstate's pricing sophistication with extensive use of GLMs, GLMnets, GBMs and Bayesian GLMs.

Thomas Holmes
Tom Holmes is Akur8’s Chief Actuary for the US region and is a co-author of the upcoming publication Penalized Regression and Lasso Credibility. He has experience modeling personal and commercial insurance, and volunteers with the CAS on predictive modeling topics. He is a frequent presenter at CAS events and Akur8 webinars, and performs industry outreach to share actuarial modeling methodologies and best practices. Tom is a Fellow of the CAS and holds music degrees from the University of Michigan and Ohio University.
