The Geometry of Modeling with Roof Variables
Roofs are a critical component of any home, directly influencing the overall insurable value and susceptibility to risk. In this session, we will provide an in-depth exploration of roof construction, materials, and complexity, examining how these factors affect the insurable value of a property and its exposure to various levels of risk.
Attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of how different roofing materials—such as asphalt shingles, metal, and tile—impact both the durability of the roof and the likelihood of claims. We will also explore the role of roof design and construction complexity, discussing how factors like slope, age, and condition can influence the risk of loss. Through data-driven insights, we will illustrate how roofing alters the insurable value of a home and how AI can help with risk assessment, including:
➡️ Understand how different roofing materials and construction complexities impact the insurable value of a home and influence risk exposure.
➡️ Apply data-driven insights to assess the role of roof design and condition in determining insurance risk and loss potential.
➡️ Integrate AI-derived roof attributes into actuarial models to enhance risk segmentation and improve predictive accuracy.
